Police sirens

Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a two vehicle crash at 3:40 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, on Hwy 26 near milepost 7.

According to Oregon State Police, preliminary investigation revealed a Ford Explorer, operated by Lonnie Meade of Seaside, was eastbound and stopped to turn left into a driveway when it was struck from behind by a Peterbuilt semi truck operated by Alejandro Flores of Tigard.

Meade sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Flores was not injured.

Hwy 26 was closed for four hours, OSP said. 

OSP was assisted by the Seaside Fire Department, Hamlet Fire Department and ODOT.
