Six people were injured after a pickup truck tumbled down an embankment on Forest Road. Authorities released the names of four people who were involved, identifying another two only as juveniles.

At around 3:20 a.m. on Monday, June 10, Tillamook 911 received a call about a single-vehicle crash between mileposts 5 and 6 on Kilchis Forest Road. According to Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO), the pickup was traveling eastbound when it left the roadway for an undetermined reason and went over the embankment.

The pickup tumbled down a deep gully, ejecting three people riding in the back. Two people were extricated from the vehicle. Others were either boarded or were assisted up to the road for medical transport.

TCSO identified the driver as Jack Dierking, 19. Dierking was taken by ambulance to Adventist Health in Tillamook. A passenger was identified as Destiney Maldonado, 18. Maldonado was flown by Life Flight to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland. A second passenger flown by Life Flight was identified only as a juvenile female.

Three people who were injured while riding in the back of the pickup were also identified. Marcus Pederson, 22, was flown by Life Flight to Legacy Emanuel Hospital. Domanick Gutierrez, 21, was taken by ambulance to Adventist Health. A third person who was identified as a juvenile male was flown by Life Flight.

Numerous agencies responded to the scene. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
