The Clatsop County Public Health Department reported Tuesday, July 28, that two additional employees of the Da Yang Seafoods company in Astoria have tested positive for COVID-19.

The individuals are north-county residents age 40-49. They are both recovering at home.

The results bring to four the total number of Da Yang workers testing positive so far.

The Public Health Department conducted testing of all 160 of the company’s workers on Thursday, July 23, after Da Yang informed the county that one of its employees had tested positive for COVID-19 earlier in the week. That individual, a male north-county resident age 30-39, and another employee, a male north-county resident age 50-59, are also recovering at home.

The Public Health Department is waiting for the remaining results from last week’s testing of Da Yang workers.

Da Yang shut down its two Astoria processing facilities for deep cleaning last week.

The county has recorded a total of 71 cases since March 23. Fifty-five of those individuals have recovered; the others are convalescing at home.

The county is offering drive-through COVID-19 testing to members of the public two days a week. Due to increased demand, testing in most cases is being limited to those with COVID-19 symptoms or individuals who are contacts of positive cases.
