Police, fire respond to Cannon Beach accidents

One of two car accidents in Cannon Beach on Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Cannon Beach police officers and firefighters responded to two non-injury vehicle accidents on Highway 101 Wednesday morning.

An accident involving two vehicles occurred at Milepost 27 at about 9:30 a.m. One car went across the centerline and struck a vehicle going the opposite direction on the side, Fire Chief Matt Benedict said. Vehicles were towed out and no injuries were reported.

Earlier, a car heading on Highway 101 on Milepost 32 slid off the road and into a ditch, but was later towed out. The area is a sharp corner and the car slid most likely from the wet pavement, Benedict said.
