COVID-19

The Clatsop County Public Health Department on Friday, July 31, reported one new local COVID-19 case.

The individual is a female south-county resident age 20-29. She is recovering at home.

The individual is not associated with Da Yang Seafoods’ Astoria processing facilities. Four employees of the company have tested positive for COVID-19.

The county has recorded a total of 74 cases since March 23. Sixty-five of those individuals have recovered; the others are convalescing at home.

The county is offering drive-through COVID-19 testing to members of the public two days a week. Due to increased demand, testing in most cases is being limited to those with COVID-19 symptoms or individuals who are contacts of positive cases.
