Westport Winery to open Seaside tasting room

Future home of Seaside's Westport Winery.

Westport Winery of Aberdeen, Washington, plans a new tasting room in Seaside in January.

The new location at 810 Broadway is located across the way from the popular Seaside Brewing Company. Plus, it has on-street parking as well as its own free parking lot behind the building on Ocean Way.

Inside the new tasting room there is ample area for the extraordinary olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting similar to that in the Westport tasting room. This new store will also incorporate the many gourmet foods and associated samplings, along with a full gift shop, and fireside seating for those who want to enjoy wine and cheese in a cozy, comfortable setting. The new tasting room will be open year around from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

After the first of the year wine club members will be able to pick up their orders at either the Aberdeen or Seaside locations. The Cannon Beach tasting room will remain open until Jan. 2, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The new indoor mall offers an event atrium and numerous other spaces for which the Roberts family will seek complimentary retail or restaurant tenants. The upper level of the building is already occupied by a nonprofit organization which will remain.

Another project component is purchase of a property adjacent to the Seaside golf course. This is where the winery will build a spectacular vacation home available for nightly rental by wine club members and their guests. The new home, slated to be complete in June, will feature three master suites with king beds, a gas fireplace, a jetted hot tub, a covered patio overlooking the golf course, a gourmet farm-style kitchen, ample off-street parking, and a fenced yard for pets.

Family-friendly Westport Winery Garden Resort is located on the corner of Highway 105 and South Arbor Road halfway between Aberdeen and Westport. The new location at 810 Broadway in Seaside is scheduled to open Jan. 3.
