The Clatsop Forestry & Wood Products Economic Development Committee hosts the 27th annual community leader’s forestry tour on Tuesday, Sept. 12 from 7:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. The public is welcome.

Join a tour of forestry operations and demonstrations related to forest management, and stream protection and enhancement in Clatsop County.

Forest stops will feature active logging operations, including timber fallers. Forest managers will explain forest harvest methods. The Oregon Department of Forestry will discuss changes to the stream rules as part of the Forest Practices Act. Then take a short hike to view a stream enhancement project, in partnership with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Morning refreshments, box lunch and bus transportation will be provided by the committee.
