BEAVERTON — Seaside softball is off to a 1-0 start in league play, following a 7-5 win Tuesday at Valley Catholic.
Senior pitcher Jetta Ideue struck out 12 batters, and the Gulls had plenty of offense.
Freshman Kandice Flaigg had two singles, drew a walk and reached on an illegal pitch. Teammate Sequoia Shand walked and tripled, and scored Seaside’s final run.
Sidney Owsley was 2-for-3 offensively and threw a runner out from behind the plate. Gracie Rhodes had a single and a double for Seaside, now 6-1 overall.
The Gulls host Valley Catholic for a single game Thursday.
