The Coaster Theatre Playhouse will hold auditions for their 45th Anniversary Season holiday production of A Christmas Carol: The Musical on Monday, Aug. 7, Tuesday, Aug. 8, Monday, Aug. 14, and Tuesday, Aug. 15, at 6:00pm each evening. Bringing the story of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol is a time honored tradition at the Coaster Theatre. Since 1972 many versions of the story has graced the stage during the holiday season. This year the Coaster Theatre will present “A Christmas Carol: The Musical,” with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, book by Lynn Ahrens and Mike Ockrent which originally debuted at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden and will be directed by Seaside’s Lisa Fergus.

They are casting for ages 8 and up to fill out the cast of this timeless classic. Everyone is encouraged to arrive at auditions with a prepared song. Bring your own music, or you may sing a cappella. Piano accompaniment will be provided at the auditions. Everyone will be asked to read and sing from preselected sides from the show and there will also be a movement portion of the auditions. Upcoming auditions are Monday, Aug. 14 and Tuesday, Aug. 15, at 6 p.m. each night at the Coaster Theatre Playhouse.
