Art call for kids

Belinda Sampson leads student at the Coaster Theatre kids art program.

Coaster Theatre introduces a visual arts class for kids taught by Patrick Lathrop and Belinda Sampson. The class, which runs through Nov. 19, is tied to various artists throughout history, from Michelangelo to Vincent van Gogh and Andy Warhol. Each week, students create art based on the styles of a different artist. Coaster Theatre has also put out a call for North Coast artists grades K-12 to interpret the theme “Water, Wander and Wonder.” The artwork is due from Nov. 9 to 11 at the theater and will become part of a traveling art show. A reception of artwork from both the class and submitted art will be displayed on Nov. 20 at the Coaster Theatre.
