Enrollment time at Fire Mountain School

Fire Mountain School students participate in place-based education. The school is hosting an open house May 6.

Fire Mountain School’s May Day celebration takes place Sunday, May 6, with music, food, cake and dancing around the May Pole.

The school’s mission is to nurture each child by providing a joyful, place-based learning experience. Place-based education immerses students in local heritage, cultures, landscapes, opportunities and experiences, using these as a foundation for the study of language arts, mathematics, social studies, science and other subjects across the curriculum. Place-based education emphasizes learning through participation in service projects for the local school and community. To learn more, visit https://www.promiseofplace.org/.

A public art show caps off this year’s civic project in partnership with North Coast Land Conservancy and Cannon Beach Arts Association.

Summer camp registration opens soon. Email firemountainschool@gmail.com or visit firemountainschool.org; 503-5436-2610.
