Clatsop County is seeking public input on its ambulance franchise agreement. An online survey asks respondents about their experience with the current franchisee, Medix Ambulance, which provides advanced life-support ambulance response service to Clatsop County and has served as the area’s primary ambulance provider since 1975. The survey is open not only to citizens who have used Medix but also emergency first responders, healthcare providers and others.

The survey was developed by the county’s Ambulance Service Area Advisory Committee, a volunteer panel representing local citizens, healthcare experts, emergency responders and other stakeholders that oversees and provides recommendations to the county Board of Commissioners regarding local ambulance service.

The committee is gathering input as part of a review of the county’s ambulance service franchise agreement with Medix, which is up for renewal in June 2016. The current agreement was originally signed in 1995, and a 15-year extension was approved in 2001.

The survey is available on the Clatsop County website,
