1:18 a.m. Second Street: camping within city limits. Subject(s) warned for unlawful lodging.

8:44 a.m. Beach: call for information. Report of buoy washed onto shore, south of Silverpoint. Upon arrival, officer observed a U.S. Coast Guard or U.S. Navy buoy. Officer contacted the Coast Guard and, at their request, sent photographs. Officer wrapped the buoy with police tape, was informed Coast Guard would contact appropriate owner of buoy.

April 13

12:38 a.m. 400 block of South Roosevelt Drive: assistance provided to Seaside Police Department. SPD requested assistance while searching for a suspect in an assault that had just occurred at the Seaside Safeway. Unable to locate and returned to Cannon Beach.

4:11 p.m. U.S. Highway 101 and Sunset Boulevard: DUII. Responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch. After further investigation, subject was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants, consented to breath test; sample was 0.18 percent.

11:51 p.m. Tolovana Wayside: camping within city limits. Subject(s) warned for unlawful lodging.

April 14

1:18 a.m. 2700 block of South Pacific Street: other all. Received report of a loud bang or explosion and a power loss in the area of the Stephanie Inn. Officer searched the area and observed no obvious signs of power loss or anything suspicious. Officer was contacted shortly after and advised that the Stephanie Inn was running on reserve power only. Spoke with reporting party, who stated some things worked in the hotel and some didn’t. Officer requested that dispatch contact Pacific Power.

April 15

2:25 a.m. Second Street restrooms: camping within city limits. Subjects contacted for overnight camping. Advised of ordinance and cleared.

April 16

3:47 a.m. Second Street restrooms: camping within city limits.

April 17

1:44 a.m. Tolovana Wayside: camping within city limits. Subject(s) warned for unlawful lodging.

7:16 p.m. 200 block of Beaver Street: suspicious circumstances. Report of three juvenile males stealing soccer net from the old grade school playground. Located the juveniles moving the entire soccer goal net to the Second Street park to play a soccer game (there is only one net at the park). Advised juveniles to return the goal net to the school when they were done playing.

10:12 p.m. U.S. Highway 26 to U.S. Highway northbound off-ramp: assistance provided to Oregon State Police, Seaside Fire Department and Cannon Beach Fire and Rescue with a single vehicle crash. Vehicle hit a deer. Officer dispatched the deer and assisted with traffic control until OSP arrived.

10:45 p.m. 3400 block of South Hemlock Street: disturbance. Report of domestic disturbance in motel room. Reporting person overheard comment regarding “knives.” Officers Johnson and Bowman arrived and interviewed both subjects involved. Disturbance was verbal in nature only. Advised subject to quiet down and recommended they go to sleep until they sobered up. Advised that they could face charges of disorderly conduct if officers were to return. Subject agreed to quiet down.

April 18

12:27 a.m. Second Street sewer ponds: camping within city limits. Subjects contacted and warned for unlawful lodging.

7:48 a.m. 300 block of North Spruce: suspicious circumstances. Jogger reported concerning “graffiti” on the door of 324 N. Spruce St. (Captain’s House). Determined to be a prank between Bible School Students and Conference Center person.

6:07 p.m. Second Street RV parking lot: DUII. Subject arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants. Blood-alcohol concentration of 0.15 percent.

6:26 p.m. Spruce Street and public parking lot: information exchange. Subject called dispatch advising of minor motor vehicle accident, noninjury. Only concerned because driver of the other vehicle was not the registered owner. Officer tied up on another call. Advised they only needed to exchange insurance information.

April 19

12:24 a.m. Elk Run Park: camping within city limits. Subject(s) warned for unlawful lodging.

1:07 a.m. Gower Street Parking lot: camping within city limits. Subject(s) warned for unlawful lodging.

2:41 a.m. Tolovana Wayside: camping within city limits. Subject(s) warned for unlawful lodging.

2:28 p.m. Beach off of Washington Street: suspicious circumstances. Call about public indecency. Spoke with both reporting party and subjects. Subjects refused any wrongdoing. Made an agreement for the subjects to move to another area of the beach.

April 20

1:57 a.m. 600 block of Oak Court: camping within city limits. Subject(s) warned for unlawful lodging. Male subject also advised not to drive because of expired driver’s license.

1:06 p.m. 100 block of East Gower Street: assistance provided to another agency. Male subject admitted to consuming three bottles of Champagne the previous night and was feeling dizzy and not feeling good in the morning, so he consumed another bottle of Champagne. Patient also on several different medications. Did not know the day of the week, how old he was, or who the president was. Patient turned over to Medix, who transported him to Providence Seaside Hospital.

2:59 p.m. 700 block of South Wahanna Road: assistance provided to Seaside Police Department with a suicidal patient, who ran from the Providence Seaside Hospital into the woods by the hospital. Subject was taken back to Providence Seaside Hospital without incident.

April 21

2:48 a.m. Larch Street and beach: warrant arrest. Observed fire on beach and recognized subject. Dispatch advised that subject had a municipal warrant for probation violation from Warrenton Municipal Court. Subject was taken to Seaside Police Department for booking and given a recognizance release at Warrenton’s request, then given a courtesy ride back to Cannon Beach.

6:20 p.m. 700 block of North Second Avenue: possession of a controlled substance. Assistance provided to outside agency for call regarding shots fired. After further investigation, a bag of schedule 1 mushrooms was obtained. Subject informed case would be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office. Subject was not arrested.

April 22

11:26 p.m. Second Street at sewer ponds. Officer contacted subjects in parked vehicle. Subjects were advised of overnight camping ordinance. Subjects understood.

11:28 p.m. Second Street at Skatepark: camping within city limits. Subject(s) warned for unlawful lodging.

April 23

3:15 a.m. Tolovana Wayside: camping within city limits. Subject(s) warned for unlawful lodging. Warned as well for minors being out after curfew.

April 25

2:07 p.m. Haystack Rock at ocean shore: assistance provided to another agency. Report of family creating a disturbance with Haystack Rock Awareness Program volunteers. Officer made contact with reporting party; no action needed.
