3:53 a.m. Pacific Street: camping within city limits.

4:06 a.m. Tolovana Wayside: camping within city limits.

7:24 a.m. 1100 block of Pacific Street: mental hold by police officer.

3:42 p.m. 200 block of North Hemlock Street: property found, paraphernalia. Small cloth pouch containing small bud of marijuana and a small glass pipe.

8:28 p.m. U.S. Highway 101 at milepost 28: assistance provided to another agency with fatal motor vehicle crash.

July 21

12:05 a.m. Sixth and Hemlock streets: minor in possession of alcohol.

5:19 p.m. Cannon Beach at Semaphore No. 3: missing person: Child reported missing in the vicinity of Mo’s Restaurant. Lifeguards located child and reunited child with parents.

5:35 p.m. 100 block of Elliott Way: assault IV.

July 22

2:23 p.m. 4000 block of South Ocean Lane: assistance provided to Cannon Beach Fire and Rescue with a possible heart attack.

3:49 p.m. Taft Street near EVOO: information. Reporting party requests a welfare check on a dog in the parking lot of EVOO. She has seen the dog in the same vehicle on numerous occasions. Officer contacted the owner; she will not leave the dog in the vehicle again.

July 23

4:35 a.m. Rock Court and Gower Street: camping within city limits. Officer contacted subject sleeping on the porch of the Surf Shop and warned him for unlawful lodging. Subject was moving on.

3:51 p.m. Hug Point: assistance provided to Cannon Beach Fire and Rescue and Cannon Beach lifeguards with rescue of male stuck on rock in the water.

4:46 p.m. Hemlock Street and Sunset Boulevard: non-injury motor vehicle crash.

6:37 p.m. Mariner Market: warrant arrest. Made contact with male at Mariner Market on report of being drunk and abusive to the market staff. Male had two misdemeanor warrants out of Coos Bay. Transported to Clatsop County jail.

July 24

8:26 p.m. West Madison and Hemlock Streets: assistance rendered. Intoxicated female given a courtesy ride to residence.

July 25

12:03 a.m. Second Street restroom: camping within city limits. Subject warned for unlawful lodging.

12:32 a.m. U.S. Highway 101 at Sunset Boulevard: suspicious circumstances. Contacted subjects along highway. Subjects from Oregon State University and are conducting university study on tsunami evacuation routes at night.

2:13 p.m. U.S. Highway 101 at milepost 31: traffic complaint. Report of a silver Honda van westbound on U.S. Highway 26 from milepost 7. Vehicle reported passing illegally and almost ran someone off the road. Observed similar van at U.S. Highway 101 at milepost 31 following too close and violating basic rules. Stopped driver and advised of complaint. Believed to be same driver. Warned for violations and spoke with regarding driving.

July 26

1 a.m. Spruce and Gower streets: camping within city limits.

1:05 a.m. Sunset Boulevard at U.S. Highway 101: camping within city limits.

2:04 a.m. Second Street RV parking: camping within city limits.

2:13 a.m. Second Street restrooms: camping within city limits.

4:33 a.m. U.S. Highway 101 at milepost 26: fugitive.

4:35 p.m. Chapman Point: assistance provided to Cannon Beach Fire and Rescue with a rescue call. Male with a broken ankle.

6:27 p.m. 100 block of North Larch Street: dog/animal complaints. Report of a dog at large. Dog was transported to a kennel and was released to owner shortly thereafter.

6:34 p.m. Beach and West Harrison Street: traffic complaint. Report of a vehicle northbound on beach. Vehicle authorized to be on beach for horse feces clean-up.

July 27

1:25 a.m. Second Street sewer ponds: camping within city limits. Subject warned for unlawful lodging.

1:26 a.m. Second Street restrooms: camping within city limits. Subjects warned for unlawful lodging.

1:31 a.m. Second Street sewer ponds: camping within city limits. No subjects contacted because of priority call.

1:59 a.m. Second Street sewer ponds: camping within city limits. Subject warned for unlawful lodging.

2:16 a.m. Fernwood Street: camping within city limits. Subjects warned for unlawful lodging.

10:41 a.m. 100 block of West Washington Street: emergency medical response. Female vomiting blood. No Medix transport.

12:29 p.m. Second Street parking lot: assistance rendered. Caller reported being left in the car alone. She was frightened and needed help. She did not speak English. Officer responded. Language line was used to communicate. Officer was able to contact the woman’s family and the woman was reunited with her family. Woman had dementia; family was spoken to with regard to leaving the woman alone, especially in unfamiliar area.

7:36 p.m. U.S. Highway 26 at milepost 3: assistance provided to another agency. Request by Oregon State Police to check for report of a male walking back and forth across the highway. Unable to locate male on U.S. Highway 26 or on U.S. Highway 101 to the rock quarry.

9:17 p.m. Madison Street and beach: assistance provided to another agency. Caller reported multiple bonfires on the beach. Officer responded and found all fires to be appropriate size. Two were asked to move them further from the grass.

9:48 p.m. U.S. Highway 101, northbound: traffic complaint. Officer advised of skateboarder on roadside creating traffic hazard. Unable to locate.

11:52 p.m. Second Street parking lot: camping within city limits. Subjects warned for unlawful lodging.

July 28

1:08 a.m. Les Shirley Park: camping within city limits. Subject was contacted for overnight camping.

1:57 a.m. Hemlock and Chena streets: camping within city limits. Subject was warned for overnight camping.

Noon 100 block of East Gower Street: hit-and-run, vehicle vs. property. FedEx truck vs. parked patrol vehicle.

12:02 p.m. U.S. Highway 101 at milepost 27: assistance rendered. Disabled vehicle partially blocking southbound lane. Vehicle was able to move off road.

1:02 p.m. Second and Larch streets: assistance provided to Cannon Beach Fire and Rescue with a medical call: male fell.

2:42 p.m. 200 block of North Hemlock Street: theft II. Theft of sunglasses of $130 value.

6:25 p.m. Spruce and Hemlock streets: dog/animal complaints. Vehicle and dog located. Outside temperature 63 degrees. Dog was not in distress.

8:04 p.m. Beach at Haystack Rock: traffic complaint. Report of burgundy King Cab truck on the beach. Unable to locate. Reporting person possibly saw lifeguard truck, which is also burgundy.

10:17 p.m. Brailler and Pacific streets: fireworks offense. Report of Chinese lanterns on beach. Subject identified and warned.

11:25 p.m. Tolovana Wayside: camping within city limits. Subject warned for overnight camping.

July 29

4:28 p.m. U.S. Highway 101 at milepost 26: assistance rendered.

4:42 p.m. First Street bridge: assistance provided to another agency.

8:54 p.m. 100 block of Seventh Street: burglary I.

11:38 p.m. Fifth and Fir streets: camping within city limits. Subject warned for overnight camping.

11:49 p.m. Second Street restrooms: camping within city limits. Subject warned for overnight camping.

July 30

1:29 a.m. Ocean Avenue and Jefferson Street: camping within city limits. Subject warned for overnight camping.

2:07 a.m. Siuslaw Street and beach: camping within city limits.

3:13 a.m. Unknown: suspicious circumstances: report of criminal mischief. Vehicle was seen “egging” downtown businesses. Vehicle plate was identified and a local address provided. Officer was unable to locate the suspects. No damage done to any buildings.

1:20 p.m. 200 block of Spruce Street: call for information. Report of white male, 5 feet 7 inches, long hair, gray sweats, blue backpack, looking into cars, lifting door handles to see if cars are unlocked. When officer arrived, he could see the described male in the Spruce and Second street public parking lot. Made contact with the male, whom the officer knew. No criminal activity.

6:47 p.m. Chapman Point: assistance provided to another agency. Report of male possible in distress on rocks at Chapman Point. Male climbed down from rocks without incident.

7:23 p.m. 100 block of West Jefferson Street: assistance provided to Cannon Beach Emergency Medical Response for medical call.

8:40 p.m. 1800 block of South Pacific Street: suspicious circumstances. Report of large group trespassing through private property to gain access to the beach and parking their vehicles on private property. The group left and moved their vehicles.

9:20 p.m. Ecola State Park: call on a disturbance. Assistance provided to Oregon State Police. Report of possible domestic disturbance at Ecola Park. Disturbance was verbal in nature only.

11:26 p.m. Les Shirley Park: camping within city limits. Overnight camper. Advised of code and moved.

11:58 p.m. First and Spruce streets: camping within city limits. Overnight camper in RV. Advised of code and moved.

July 31

2:26 a.m. Oak Court: camping within city limits. Overnight camping in a vehicle. Advised of code and moved.

4:17 a.m. Seaside: assistance provided to Seaside Police Department with attempting to identify a responsible party at the Shilo Oceanfront with Corporal Jordan.

7:30 p.m. 3700 block of Coho Place: subpoena service, successful.

9:57 p.m. 82600 block of Seascape Lane: fireworks offense. Subjects contacted and warned about lighting and releasing illegal sky lanterns.

11:38 p.m. Second Street RV parking: camping within city limits. Subjects warned for unlawful lodging.

11:42 p.m. Second Street RV parking: camping within city limits. Subject warned for unlawful lodging.

Aug. 1

1:10 a.m. Spruce public parking: camping within city limits. Subjects warned for unlawful lodging.

7:39 a.m. Beach at Land’s End: camping within city limits. Subject warned for unlawful lodging.

9:40 a.m. 100 block of West Gower Street: murder.

9:57 a.m. 100 block of North Hemlock Street: motor vehicle accident.

9:53 p.m. Spruce and Adams streets: camping within city limits.

3:51 a.m. 3500 block of West Chinook Avenue: call on a disturbance.

4:56 a.m. Second Street restrooms: camping within city limits.

5:05 a.m. Second Street restroom parking lot: camping within city limits.

9:39 a.m. Beach in front of Surfsand Resort: assistance provided to another agency.

2:40 p.m. 300 block of North Spruce Street: parking violation, misuse of handicap insignia. Report of vehicles blocking vacation rental driveway.

7:44 p.m. Beach and West Dawes Avenue: traffic complaint. Report of vehicle driving on beach. Unable to locate.

8:23 p.m. 100 block of Sunset Boulevard: unauthorized entry of motor vehicle.

10:57 p.m. Umpqua Street and beach: call on a disturbance.

11:38 p.m. 3500 block of Pacific Street: disturbance. Wedding on beach won’t quiet down. Wedding guests contacted a second time and told to shut down party for the evening. Wedding party shut down as requested.

11:41 p.m. Second Street restrooms: camping within city limits.

11:42 p.m. 500 block of Antler Road: camping within city limits.
