The 53rd annual Seaside Beach Run is on Saturday, July 20. The course will begin and end at 12th Avenue at the North Prom beach access, and the entire event will be held on the beach to avoid traffic safety concerns and to celebrate Seaside’s coastal beauty. All runners will head north to the mouth of the Necanicum River; turn back to head south toward Tillamook Head; turn back to head north to the mouth of the Necanicum River; last turn to head south and then east to the finish line back on the Promenade. Registration ends on July 19, at 8:59 p.m. There is a $40 race fee and $3 sign-up fee.

The 5K begins at 9 a.m. as well on the beach facing south. All runners will head south toward Tillamook Head (around Avenue U); turn back to head north, then east to the finish line back on the Promenade. The 5K Racewalk begins at 8:45 a.m. and will begin at the north end of the Promenade near the registration area, walk on the Promenade to the south end at Avenue U, turn around and return to the start/finish line. RaceWalkers are hand-timed. Awards will be presented to the top male and female finishers, regardless of age. Registration for both the run and walk are $40 each.

The 5K Promwalk will begin at 8:50 a.m. This is a non-competitive event. All walkers will begin at the north end of the Promenade near the registration area, walk on the Promenade to the south end at Avenue U, turn around and return to the start/ finish line. Price is $30 plus a $2.50 sign-up fee.

The Kids’ Sand Dash will begin at 10:30 a.m. This is a fun activity designed for parents and grandparents to share their passion for running with their children and/or grandchildren. The Sand Dash is a short 50-75-yard dash in the soft sand. Younger children will run in a 25-30 yard dash, while older children will run in a 52-75 yard dash. Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age category regardless of gender. After the Sand Dash, kids are encouraged to participate in the Treasure Hunt where everyone gets a prize.
