The North Oregon Coast chapter of Heroes put on their fifth event of 2019 on Saturday, July 20. Active duty or retired military and First Responders joined in for a day of kayak fishing.

The event was held on the Nehalem River near Miami-Foley Road and Foss Road from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. with eight kayaks that will be available to participants.

"Heroes On The Water, North Oregon Coast Chapter  Paddle, Fish, Heal for Veterans, Active Duty and First Responders got in tune with nature. Special thank you to Brad Thayer at Thayer Farms and Chapter Coordinator Raymond Zimmerman. Many Veterans Active Duty and First Responders suffer P.T.S.D. or miss the brother/sisterhood of being part of elite group."
